But is it art?

Bit of a cheat, i've used a figure from my previous manipulation, now a full statue and placed her in a gallery to start a philosophical debate.  If I carved the figure from a block of stone it would be art, if it was created using a magic spell or medusa's head is it still art?  Discuss ...
